SUMMER HITS APPROACHING

 

hey hey, my new album 'summer hits' will be out on 18 july 2025. you can listen to the song 'ice cream van' via my bandcamp page here. i recorded the album at my friend jasper's house - groovetrank eastgate north - between january and march 2025, and did a few overdubs in the utility room of my house.

i recorded, played and mixed everything myself, including drums which turned out to be a nightmare. my friend, dave keegan, mastered it which helped de-murk from the terrible mixes. 

many of the songs were written when i was going through a 'slow' phase, listening to lots of codeine and come and things. so it might sound a bit gloomier than i meant. i actually removed the slowest song because it made it almost unbearable, it might emerge in some form if i ever manage to get it to sound ok.

not totally sure what else to say about it other than it's just another album. i won't be promoting it because that's a joyless experience. would like to do some shows but would mean begging people and can't bring myself to do that either. so it's just going to float around out there on the digital landfill until the world runs out of electricity.

apart from that, been writing some new fast songs with my band, sewage farm, and more tracks from my other band, strange pink, will be released over the summer. i also played my only show of the year so far in bridlington and survived. oh and fuck trump...
